What we offer

Specialist care, shaped around each child

Every child arrives with their own story. Our services are designed to meet them where they are — with patience, structure and warmth.

Service 01

Behavioural Assessment & Support

We take time to understand the reasons behind a child's behaviour, then build a personalised plan that helps them feel calmer, safer and more in control.

  • Individual behavioural assessments on arrival
  • Personalised support plans, reviewed regularly
  • Positive, strengths-based strategies
  • Clear, consistent boundaries delivered with kindness
Service 02

Trauma-Informed Care

Many children in residential care have experienced trauma. Our practice is grounded in approaches that help them feel safe, accepted and understood.

  • PACE — Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy
  • Positive Behaviour Support for lasting, gentle change
  • Calm environments and a low-arousal approach
  • Therapeutic routines that rebuild trust over time
Service 03

Family Involvement & Support

Where it is safe and appropriate, we work closely with families and professionals to keep important relationships strong and support a child's wider network.

  • Collaborative planning with families and social workers
  • Supported, well-prepared family contact
  • Regular updates and open communication
  • A shared focus on each child's long-term outcomes

Frequently asked questions

What ages do you care for?

We provide residential care for children and young people aged 5 to 17, in a small home environment.

How are placements made?

Placements are arranged with local authorities. After an enquiry, we complete a matching and impact assessment to make sure the home is right for the child and for the young people already living with us.

Do you support children with additional needs?

Yes. Our team is trained to support a range of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs. We'll always be honest with you about whether we can meet a particular child's needs well.

Can you take emergency placements?

Where we have capacity and it is a safe match, we can discuss urgent placements. Please call us directly so we can respond quickly.

Ready to discuss a placement?

Tell us about the child and we'll talk through whether Priory Children's Home is the right fit.
