Safeguarding at Priory Children's Home

The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our highest priority — in everything we do.

In an emergency

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 straight away. You can also contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 or Childline on 0800 1111.

This is a placeholder Safeguarding statement. Please align it with your full safeguarding policy and local procedures before publishing.

Our commitment

Priory Children's Home is committed to providing a safe, caring environment where every child is protected from harm. Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone connected to our home, and it runs through all of our policies, training and daily practice.

How we keep children safe

  • Safer recruitment, including enhanced DBS checks for all staff;
  • Regular safeguarding and child protection training for the whole team;
  • A designated safeguarding lead responsible for concerns and referrals;
  • Clear procedures for recognising, recording and reporting concerns;
  • Close working relationships with local authorities and safeguarding partners;
  • Listening to children and making sure their voices are heard.

Raising a concern

If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child connected to our home, please contact us immediately so we can act. You can speak to our designated safeguarding lead by calling +44 (0) 20 7123 4567.

You can also raise concerns directly with the relevant local authority's children's services or with Ofsted.

Children's voices

We actively encourage the children in our care to talk to us about anything that worries them. Every young person is told who they can speak to, both inside and outside the home, and how to get help independently.
